Austrian Literature

Hey dear readers,
And I feel so bad because neither o nor i did post anything today...
So I though to give our blog a bit of an intellectual touch it might be a good idea to introduce you to one of my favourite authors.
Well, maybe he can't really be my favourite author because he has just published one book yet, but i had the pleasure to attend one of his readings and his charming and special way of talking and behaving was just so likeable that I really started adoring his book.
His name is Reinhard Kaiser-Mühlecker and his a young, austrian writer.
Since I attend 5x a year the events organized by the Alte Schmiede (its an organisation, which always invites german speaking authors and you can go there, listen to them and ask them any questions for free) there would be many authors I could introduce you to, but he is the youngest and of the not-so-famous-writers the most charming, so I chose him.
The name of his book is "Der lange Gang über die Stationen" and the story takes place in Austria during the 50ies. It's mostly about a distance that can grow between two people although they're so close - physically- and in my eyes it's just a really beautiful book.
His style is very special and just something else than all the modern books you can read now. And I think it gives you a really nice impressions of the austrian landscape and how austria used to be. This is also makes this book so good, it's so authentic although the write is just in his mid twenties...

I think it's definetly worth reading it and would recommend it to all of you!
so have fun while reading the book
xo J
